Calcium oxide, or CaO, is an inorganic compound widely known as quick lime. It manifests as a white powdered substance, characteristic of physical properties. Its impurities make it grayish white; it turns light yellow or gray when containing impurities and has hygroscopicity. Being an alkaline oxide makes calcium oxide sensitive to moisture. Easy absorption of carbon dioxide and water from the air. It reacts with water to form Ca(OH)2Ca(OH)2 and produces a lot of heat.
1. Can be used as a filler. For example: Used as a filler for epoxy adhesives.
2. Used as analytical reagents carbon dioxide absorbers for gas analysis spectral analysis reagents high-purity reagents for epitaxy and diffusion processes in semiconductor production laboratory ammonia drying and alcohol dehydration etc.
3. It can serve as a primary material to produce calcium carbide, soda ash, bleaching powder, etc. It finds application in tanning, wastewater purification, calcium hydroxide and many other calcium compounds.
4. It may serve as construction material, metallurgical flux, quick-setting cement additive, or phosphor flux;
5. Utilized as vegetable oil decolorizer, drug carrier, soil improver, and calcium fertilizer;
6. Also usable as a refractory material and desiccant;
7. Applicable in preparing agricultural machinery adhesives No. 1 and No. 2 underwater epoxy adhesives; can also serve as reactant for prereaction with 2402 resin.
8. Used for treatment of acid wastewater and conditioning of sludge.
9. It can also act as a boiler shut down protection agent; this is because of the ability of lime to absorb moisture, thus keeping the metal surface dry and eliminating corrosion in the boiler water vapor system. This product is applicable forlong-term shutdown protection in low pressure, medium pressure, and small capacity drum boilers.
10. It can react with water to produce calcium hydroxide. The reaction equation is CaO+H2O=Ca(OH)2 which pertains to compound reaction.
The packing must be finished and the loading made secure.
During transportation, the container should be leak-proof, not collapse, and must not fall or cause damage.
Mixing is strictly prohibited with inflammable or combustible materials, acids, edible chemicals, etc.
Transportation vehicles should have tools for dealing with leakage emergencies.
Rainy weather should not be a condition for transportation.
Store in a cool and ventilated w arehouse.
The humidity of the warehouse should not be more than 85%. Packaging must be sealed to prevent moisture absorption.
It must be stored separately from easy combustibles and acids; they should not be mixed with it either.
The storage area shall be provided with suitable materials for the retention of spillage.
