Nicknames of calcium hydroxide: slaked lime, hydrated lime.Production method of calcium hydroxide: The finished product is obtained by digesting calcium oxide with water and drying, sifting and windpicking.Physical and chemical properties of calcium hydroxide: strongly alkaline. Placed in the air, it gradually absorbs carbon dioxide and becomes calcium carbonate. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in acid. With a density of 22.4g/cm3, its clarified aqueous solution is a colorless odorless alkaline transparent liquid with a PH value of 12.4.
The main reasons why calcium hydroxide is used in flue gas desulphurization include its high efficiency, economy and environmental friendliness.
High specific surface calcium hydroxide has significant advantages and wide applications in flue gas desulfurization.
Application advantages
High reaction efficiency: High specific surface area calcium hydroxide has a large contact area with sulfur dioxide in flue gas, which allows for more complete reaction and improves desulfurization efficiency. Generally speaking, under the same reaction conditions, the desulfurization efficiency of high specific surface calcium hydroxide can be increased by 10% -20% compared to ordinary calcium hydroxide.
Less usage: Due to its high activity and high reaction efficiency, the amount of high specific surface calcium hydroxide used is relatively less when achieving the same desulfurization effect. This not only reduces the cost of desulfurization, but also decreases the processing capacity of subsequent desulfurization products.
Strong adaptability: able to adapt to flue gas with different sulfur contents, and also has good desulfurization effect on high sulfur flue gas. Meanwhile, under different flue gas temperature and humidity conditions, high specific surface calcium hydroxide can maintain relatively stable desulfurization performance.
